Three Year Old Kindergarten
Three-year-old kindergarten is available for children who turn three before 30 April each year, two years before they are eligible to commence primary school.
Four Year Old Kindergarten
Four-year-old kindergarten is available for children who turn four before 30 April each year, in the year before they are eligible to commence primary school. All Victorian children are eligible for 15 hours per week (or 600 hours) of funded kindergarten in the year before they commence primary school.
How to Enrol
Register Your Child for Kindergarten
Parents can register their child with the Brimbank City Council (BCC) when they are born by talking to a Brimbank Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nurse. The MCH Nurse will register your child on the system; this information will be forwarded to us after the BCC Central Enrolments team have processed your child’s application and received confirmation from you. If you are unsure of your registration status, you can register for kindergarten online (this will take approximately 15 minutes to complete). You will need to provide the following information:
- A scanned copy of the child’s birth certificate, passport, visa or immigration document
- Proof of residency in Brimbank
- Health Care Card/Pensioner Concession
- Preferred kindergarten location
- Additional needs or support documentation.
Please note that the Central Enrolments will contact you in the year before your child starts kindergarten.
Registration is based on criteria in the Brimbank Kindergarten Registration Policy.
